Whats next?

We have booked a school computer for Tuesday at 12.30pm, where me and Charlotte will come up to Chauncy and meet Laura and Sophie where we will begin editing the photo's on photo shop. Hopefully by the end of the session we will have our first draft of both tasks completed and ready to be presented on Friday lesson [4-03-11].

Ancillary Task Photoshoot [27-02-11]

Luckily the weather was cold but nice and sunny today which is definitely not what we were expecting! We arrived at Broxbourne woods at 11am and didn't have far to walk until we found the location we wanted to use! We found a nice open space which was covered in leaves and surrounded by interesting trees.
We were very lucky that the sun was out as I think it made our picture look a lot more professional and well lit. Sian did a good job as the photographer and managed to capture a lot of usable pictures.
We took group pictures of all 4 of us standing together, far apart, throwing leaves in the air and individual pictures.
We will definitely have a hard decision when it comes to picking which ones we want to use! Overall we are all really happy with the results and look forward to editing them.

Here are 3 of the many picture taken today:

Plan for Sunday's shoot!

We have stuck with our decision to shoot on Sunday even though the weather is meant to be cold & rainy! Charlotte suggested we go to Broxbourne woods instead of Epping Forest and it is much closer to us and should be less muddy. My sister Sian will come along and be our photographer and we will use Laura's Dads cannon camera. Therefore the plan is to meet at Broxbourne woods at 11am on Sunday 27th February to take the pictures for our ancillary tasks! Hopefully the weather is good.

Visit to Epping Forest [Monday 21st February]

Today as planned, me, Sophie and Laura drove to Epping Forest to plan shots for Sunday. We found that Epping definitely didn't look as nice as it did when we were filming our music video! It was very muddy and grim which will come across in our pictures unless they are photo shopped well. We walked around and came across all the locations that we filmed in, and there were only a couple that would be okay to shoot in but not great.

The weather this week will be an important factor as it is meant to rain therefore the forest will be even wetter and muddier making it impossible to shoot in. As a group we will make a decision on whether to shoot here or not within the next couple of days

The plan of action for half term!

Today in our media lesson our group discussed what we were going to do about producing our ancillary tasks!

We have decided to change the theme of our photo shoot - therefore we will not be having a photo shoot in a studio wearing coloured dresses and heels. Instead we have decided to have the photo shoot in Epping Forest (where our video was filmed). The pictures taken in Epping will be used for both ancillary tasks. We didn't want to imitate The Saturday's too much and felt that doing a photo shoot similar to theirs would look as if we were copying them so we thought it was best to do something completely unique and different.

As Charlotte is skiing over half term - me, Laura and Sophie have decided to go over to Epping in half term and have a look at different locations we can use and take some pictures. After looking at the pictures taken we will then decide what outfits will look best and what poses to do.

The photo shoot will take place on Sunday 27th February in Epping and all 4 of us will be present as Charlotte will be back by then.

Font ideas for ancillary tasks

In our last lesson me, Sophie, Laura & Charlotte looked at what fonts we wanted to use in our ancillary tasks. First of all we looked at what font The Saturdays currently used. Here are 2 examples:

The style they have gone with is more modern and not very girly which I think looks really good. We wanted something a bit more girly and posh so we searched on the internet for lots of different fonts. There are thousands to choose from!

We came across Black Jack which was exactly what we wanted and what we are planning to use for both ancillary tasks.

Moodboard

As a group we created a mood board which includes images and fonts that could be used to inspire the look of our digi-pak. It basically sums up our stylistic ideas.

Our mood board is very girly with lots of pictures of dresses, shoes and girls bands. The images we have used pretty much sums up the likes and tastes of our target audience
