Feedback from music video pitch

We presented our pitch to the rest of the class on Friday 10th September. During out pitch we made sure everyone had the opportunity to speak and here is some of the feedback we recieved:

  • Our pitch and ideas were well thought out and planned carefully.
  • In our pitch we briefly mentioned how we wanted to target a more mature audience in our video. We verbally explained this in more detail and told the class how we would do this more in the digi-pack and magazine advert than the video itself.
  • When we explained how we wanted to use the natural enviroment to film in and how we wanted to use nature as props, we recieved good feedback and our audience thought this was a good idea as it would look very good in the video. We explained about filming in Epping Forest which has lots of different natural enviroments and we were advised about which weather condition would look best. This meant we had to carefully plan when to film as we needed to catch the weather at the best times.
  • The fact that we had a very clear intended audience and our planned use of flashbacks meant our idea was well recieved as it added variety.
  • We recieved more posotive feedback when we explained what we wanted to do with our outfits in each location. We decided on wearing similar autumn/winter clothes for the Epping shoot and black dresses with each of us wearing a different coloured pair of heels for the barn shoot. The audience thought this was a good idea because it slightly differentiated everyone in the group but looked right. We decided to make this our USP because we thought it would looking interesting on camera.
  • Overall our pitch was very successful. There was no negative feedback and all the audience understood the concept of our video and the look we were going for. The audience could tell our plan was well thought out. We could have improved our pitch by adding pictures of the actors and crew although we did include self-taken pictures of the outfits.
